i was driving back home w/ my kuya... it was raining, so i was hard at work trying to concentrate driving and having a pretty hot discussion about things... like, how one of the board members was resigning and, as directors, how we had a lack of invovlement to the response... and alyansa. ill try to talk about the first part w/in the directors... but man, alyansa... phew. so we were talking about alyansa and how a name change would affect the pilipino orgs on campus... he had the view of an alumni... that all their hard work would be trashed just because of a name change... and that essentially its new thought (with the new pusoboard and newer joining orgs) versus old thought (alumni... kaba or not). i just feel that in a way, its hindering our own advancement because keeping a roundtable umbrella, even if one of its constituent's names is on the long name (alyansa ng mga kababayan) seems very dangerous and risky... if i were to speak for the pilipino community at large and not for the percentage of people representing kaba or puso, i would go for a name change... at least dropping "ng mga kababayan". this is gonna be one very very very very tough year...

i had a long IM chat with one of the board members... and im glad that she opened up to me. if only as board we had known about this earlier... its okay though, because in the end, that person did the right thing.

granted, kaba did have a good looking booth, but the theme? uh,ok... i guess. its like giving an award for the best dog in show to a cat. but mad props for them w/ their booth... i personally liked their whole divider 'wallpaper' with the scribble stuff... very innovative...

kaba had their first general meeting, and a lot of people were there, even the nacu's... i was surprised that 2 of 3 were there :). my brother had a part in one of the skits and it was cool that all of the velascos were in one room, even if we were in different parts of the room. then i made a complete nerd of myself when i did the kabuso announcement... it just didn't go as planned... hehe. i mean, usu. when i say '3rd year' everyone goes crazy and shit, but i guess it was nearing the end of the meeting that everyone was like "woo hoo... let's go home now" kind of mood.

wselcome week's over, and now i see why my kuya and jan were laughing so hard at me when i was telling them that i would be at the apt by the night... the whole week i was at my apt. for a total of about 7 hours. gwarsh.

so tomorrow's 1st general meeting prep, and the madness is about to start once again. yay.
